Sophie Perkins is a multi-award-winning Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Building Engineer. Her construction career started at the age of 18 as an Apprentice in Building Control. Fifteen years on she is now leading multimillion pound projects for global engineering, design and project management consultancy, Atkins. PPE THAT FITS Sophie is a UK-based global ambassador to help move equity, inclusivity and diversity initiatives in construction, engineering, oil & gas, and farming industries forward. She works diligently, on a local and national level, with a clear passion to promote these fantastic industries to all. This is how her partnership started with Amblers Safety. Sophie believes in PPE for all and wanted correct fitting PPE for women in industry to make certain they are safe on site and feel welcome from day one on-thejob. With continuing conversations, the agenda has progressed to ensure equity in PPE across the industrial sector. Sophie was named by the Women’s Engineering Society as one of the top 50 Engineers of 2019, she won the European Women in Construction and Engineering, Best Woman Building Surveyor Award as well as the G4C Constructing Excellence ‘Future Leader’ Award to name a few of her achievements.
