Who are Beeswift? Beeswift is a manufacturer and wholesaler of Personal Protective Equipment/Clothing and workwear safety products encompassing a wide range of safety products and high quality workwear. At Beeswift we pride ourselves on providing high quality PPE from footwear to head protection, products that protect our customers with superior durability and improved comfort. Our 144,000 sqft Birmingham based HQ and Distribution Centre (NDC) has significant stockholding, serving the UK, Ireland and International territories along with an in-house embroidery and badging facility. As a responsible purchaser/manufacturer we audit our production facilities at home and abroad using our internal department who have completed International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) approved courses in ISO9001, lead auditor and Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA). To help with our global compliance challenges and carbon footprint we also use external auditors who are IRCA accredited and have staffed offices all over the world. All Auditors are dedicated to ensure that consistent compliance processes are carried out to firstly meet legislation and secondly to meet the requirements of Beeswift’s company values, quality and ethical standards. After a partner production facility is audited in accordance with SMETA, we address any potential problems proactively and work with our partner production facilities to resolve these. This is done using Corrective Action Plans (CAP) . We set dates to complete any CAP objectives, then these objectives are verified with either a follow up audit or a desktop verification, that can include images, video or training plans implemented where necessary. To support our European and Global account base and Partners, Beeswift operates a European Distribution Centre (EDC), based in the Netherlands. Our EDC not only operates on the same platform with a stock profile mirroring that of our NDC, it also forms part of our disaster recovery and contingency plans. Beeswift is a full member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). We proactively work with suppliers, competitors and our peers to develop products made with ethical principles in mind. We strive to work with suppliers who share our ethical philosophy and adhere to the 9 pillars of the ETI Base Code. We believe in transparency in the supply chain and are actively engaged with other organisations in similar markets to improve our combined supplier base and in doing so we are striving to improve the existing conditions with our suppliers. In doing this we can together collectively bring greater change and improvement across all stakeholders. In addition to the ETI, we are also members of SEDEX. This means Beeswift has completed a comprehensive Self Assessment Questionnaire which is uploaded on the SEDEX Advance platform and available (permission given by Beeswift) for interested parties to view our ethical credentials. SEDEX is not a standard setting body but it is a platform for sharing ethical information and improving our supply chain. Beeswift is also accredited to ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001 QMS registered. This gives the user security and peace of mind that the Beeswift product they are using has the relevant DNA reference. Primary Authority trading standards and Beeswift, have entered into an agreement that guarantees legal advice and assistance. Beeswift are a manufacturer and wholesaler of Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment and entered the partnership to demonstrate our commitment to embed legal compliance into our business. The Primary Authority scheme enables businesses to form a legal partnership with one local authority, which then provides assured and tailored advice on complying with relevant legislation that other local regulators must respect. Businesses receive ‘primary authority advice’ tailored to their business needs, which will make it easier for businesses to comply with the law and reduce compliance costs. It also helps grow the business knowing the resources they have invested in compliance are recognised across the country. The impact on people, society, and the environment is the responsibility of every well run business. Here at Beeswift we take that very seriously. Over the years we have invested heavily in time and resources to ensure that we live up to this. Beeswift believe that a products ethical DNA can only be produced by working with companies within the supply chain who have ethical and environmental credentials. One of the ways that we try to ensure this is through the auditing and inspecting of our supply base; this is carried out either by our own internal or external IRCA accredited auditors. Beeswift certifies our garments with recognised test houses to make sure the products you buy meet the required standards. This means that you can be safe in the knowledge you are providing your customers with high quality hazardprotection workwear. Beeswift carry out audits to the latest SMETA process and we do this consistently on our Beeswift Brands at agreed time-scales. Using the audit, we generate a Corrective Action Plan and use this with the suppliers to develop systems, better working practices and close off any non-compliances. We believe that social auditing helps us work with suppliers better, it empowers workers and produces products which are ethically sourced with less environmental impact. OF SUSTAINABLE REVOLUTION A clothing revolution is changing the way garments are made and how wearers want to interact with brands. Envirowear® has been designed to be recycled. THE CHALLENGES Of the 40 million workwear garments provided to wearers annually in the UK over 90% end up in landfill or get incinerated. Garments are often blended with other fibres rendering them almost impossible to recycle. Trims, accessories and finishes introduce further barriers to recycling. CIRCULAR CLOTHING Beeswift’s Envirowear® collection makes circular hi-visibility clothing achievable for the first time. By transitioning to circular, recyclable clothing, you support: • Clothing as a renewable resource • Carbon footprint lowered by as much as 70% • Zero high visibility clothing to landfill or • incineration DESIGNED TO BE RECYCLED Envirowear® uses only mono-fibre design principles, each fabric, trim and accessory is carefully selected to ensure recyclability. HOW IT WORKS When garments reach the end of their useful lives, they are returned for recycling. The rPET generated from this unique recycling process can be made into yarn and used for all kinds of polyester clothing and accessories. TRACKING AND TRACEABILITY The QR code in the label can be scanned to identify the garment and inform the holder where to send it for recycling if a garment capturing program is not in place, Beeswift® would be happy to facilitate an introduction into a garment-capturing service provider if required. BADGING & PERSONALISATION Available with specific threads for embroidery or specialised heat transfers that are compatible with the recycling process. BRINGING CIRCULARITY TO THE WORKPLACE *Based on average weight across the Envirowear range of manufactured and recycled garments HOW MUCH ENVIROWEAR SAVES ON CARBON EMISSIONS (CO2e) EMISSION REDUCTION THE AVERAGE CAR EMITS: Envirowear uses recycled fabrics and trims from post consumer plastic bottles heading to landfill (on average 11, 1L bottles per garment) and reduces the garments manufacturing carbon footprint by an estimated 70% or approximately 4 tonne of CO2e per tonne of textile. Recycling Envirowear and diverting it away from incineration saves an additional 1 tonne of CO2e per tonne of polyester textile waste (WRAP analysis). By recycling Envirowear and re-using the r-PET generated, you are ensuring that carbon emission reductions are maintained by supporting the circular economy. 5 tonnes of CO2e is equivalent to 25,000 miles of travel or 41 trips from Lands End to John O’ Groats 120 grams of CO2 per 0.62 miles 1000kg of Envirowear reduces CO2 emissions by *5 tonnes (approx. 3000 garments) 9

The Circular Textiles Foundation (CTF) is a not for profit organisation that was created to increase the awareness and understanding of sustainable and circular clothing. The CTF are aligned and affiliated with Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and Textiles 2030, providing the carbon data that the CTF uses. Beeswift® joined the CTF to ensure that their Envirowear® range of garments are designed to be recycled. All products carry the Infinitee label designating that the garment is certified by the CTF as recyclable through an approved recycling facility. Project Plan B have partnered with Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCol) to facilitate the operational recycling of 100% polyester at their 25,000 Sq Ft recycling center in Kettering as Project Re:Claim, creating the UK’s first commercial-scale, post-consumer polyester recycling plant. The mechanical recycling process turns 100% Polyester textile waste and end of use garments into commercial grade rPET. Only garments that have been certified by the Circular Textiles Foundation as designed to be recycled using mono fibre principles, carrying the Infinitee recycling mark can enter the machine without intervention. Project Re:Claim is also now actively collecting and processing high grade 100% polyester textile feedstock. Envirowear can be recycled through Project Re:claim and SATCoL’s unique site, transforming the garment into commercial-grade rPET pellets. Developed in collaboration with industry leader Project Plan B, advances in tape technology have enabled the creation of a proprietary heat-applied tape design that can be recycled without removal. Certified as ‘Designed to be Recycled’ through Beeswift’s membership in the Circular Textiles Foundation, this facilitates complete garment recycling. 11
All the textile generated rPET through the recycling process is commercial grade and following specific batch testing is directed back into the garment supply chain. Commercially, the primary objective is yarn manufacture but with variations in quality the rPET can also be used in injection moulding garment trims and other rPET based mouldings. Recycled yarns and fibres generated from textile waste allows us to move from a linear to a circular economy. 100% polyester products are being recycled. Huge influx into the market of product where manufacturers are making claims of sustainability. Manufacturing 100% polyester garments from post-consumer plastics saves on average 11 one litre plastic bottles from landfill, but none of these garments have an end of life solution. The majority of these garments will end up being incinerated so they are in effect just ‘burning bottles’ at a later point in that products life cycle. Envirowear is the only product on the market that has a genuine end of life solution as fully recyclable through Project Re:Claim. Textile Waste: The Commission’s 2030 Vision for Textiles Reduce, Reuse, Recycle The proposed new EU rules on waste will support the separate collection of textile waste, which becomes mandatory in the EU in 2025. It is consequently exploring the idea of adding textiles to the current list of materials covered by EPR legislation, which already includes packaging, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and batteries. The “producer pays” EPR model organisations are charged a fee to cover the cost of recycling. Often, this includes ‘eco - modulation’ – a reduction in fees for products that are easy to recycle or that contain recycled content. The end goal is to incentivise design for durability and make products last longer. A textiles EPR system has already been put in place in France, and Sweden and the Netherlands are also planning to now introduce them. HI-VISIBILITY STANDARDS RIS 3279-TOM High visibility garments issued to employees should conform to all relevant performance standards (EN ISO 20471, European Standard for High Visibility Clothing), and should be worn and maintained correctly for maximum protection. In order to comply with all UK and European legislation, you need to ensure that the high visibility garments you buy comply with the following: High visibility clothing conforming to Class 1, 2, or 3, which must be worn at all times. The colour of the background materials should normally be fluorescent yellow or fluorescent orange. The retro-reflective material enhances your visibility in low light situations. This reflective material returns light to a light source – such as vehicle headlights – creating a bright image that motorists are more likely to see from a distance. As a result, motorists and pedestrians have more time to react. High-visibility clothing is an essential part of personal protective equipment. It makes people working within the railway boundary easily visible to drivers of approaching trains and helps staff in charge of work groups to account quickly for those working under their supervision. RIS-3279-TOM applies to high-visibility clothing to be worn by persons when on the lineside or on or near the line on the Great Britain (GB) mainline railway. Transport operators may choose to exceed the minimum area requirements for their staff or contractors, but the colour and luminance requirements must be met for any high visibility clothing that exceeds the minimum area requirements. This standard does not apply to staff on a station platform unless they are carrying out engineering or technical work within 1.25 m of the platform edge. These requirements ensure that staff are sufficiently visible when on or near the line, allowing train drivers to give an early audible warning. They also assist staff such as look-outs and site wardens to determine if staff are moving to locations where they may not receive the necessary warning or if they are straying into places they should not be. Hi-Vis garment types are grouped into three classes based on the conspicuity provided, with the classes dictating the minimum quantities of background and retro-reflective materials to be used. CLASS 3 Highest Protection Level: Band of retro-reflective material shall not be less the 50mm wide. Minimum background material 0.80m². Minimum retro-reflective material 0.20m². CLASS 2 Intermediate Protection Level: Band of retro-reflective material shall not be less the 50mm wide. Minimum background material 0.50m². Minimum retro-reflective material 0.13m². CLASS 1 Lowest Protection Level: Band of retro-reflective material shall not be less the 50mm wide. Minimum background material 0.14m². Minimum retro-reflective material 0.10m².
