139 Materials: ACP ACP is an Aluminium composite material made from two lightweight sheets of Aluminium with a solid black thermoplastic core. Light weight but extremely strong, ideal for outdoor use due to its excellent resistance to adverse weather and zero scrap value. Mild Steel Sheet A lightweight mild steel sheet with weather resistant properties. Due to it being light weight it is not as durable as ACP or Aluminium, this combined with its low cost usually means it is used as temporary signage in a standing frame. Other We can also manufacture signs on different materials to suit specific applications. These include solid aluminium plate, recycled plastic, or roll-up temporary signs or non-reflective PVC. Class Ref 1 Class Ref 2 Class Ref R3B Sometimes referred to as Engineering grade, this has a lower grade of retro-reflectivity and is commonly used on temporary road signage. This is a high intensity prismatic (HIP) retro-reflective sheet, specifically designed for use on permanent road signs. Engineered to give good reflectivity at all angles critical to the driver and is more durable with a longer lifespan. This is the highest grade retroreflective sheet available, and is specified for permanent signs where the ultimate visibility and legibility is required, such as motorway signs. This material is available on request. Fixings Please see page 144 for fixings options All our permanent road signs come with the option to have channel riveted horizontally onto the rear of a sign. Channel is a formed strip, to provide fixing anchorage for either anti-rotational clamps or banding (with buckles). Signs come with a suitable number of channel strips, depending on the size of the sign. The larger the sign, the more strips of channel are required. road and traffic signs The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking. All permanent roads signs manufactured for installation within Great Britain will be supplied with a UKCA mark, whereas signs destined for the European market will have the CE Mark. Road and Traffic signs are commonly erected at the side or above roads to give instructions or provide information to road users. These are generally separated into permanent and temporary categories. All permanent road signs must be manufactured by an audited and registered company by law, and have the appropriate labelling attached to the reverse. As manufacturers we are fully accredited to the relevant standards.
